Thanks for your comments on the article on clean and unclean meats. I am not at all surprised that you do not share our belief system as you call it. Not many people on earth do, including millions of Christians. The big churches have long failed to pass on the teachings of Jesus Christ - and His apostles - to their flock. If they had, Christians of all denominations would be among the healthiest people on earth. God gave His loving advise on what is good for us to eat and what is not because He wants us to be as free from disease as possible.

There are so many examples of what unclean meats can do to us. Take salmonella; just before Christmas, there were warnings on television about Christmas ham and such sea food as prawns, shrimps, oysters and so on left on your plate for too long, and when you eat them you get salmonella. Every year, according to the statistics quoted, 5000 Australians die from salmonella during this time of the year, and many thousands more get very ill. What does God say? Don't eat that stuff! What does everybody - including the churches - say? Go ahead and eat it, it won't hurt you!

When you delve into the history books, you will come across the great plagues that swept Europe and other parts of the earth from time to time. Many millions of people died, yet those who were not affected by those horrible plagues were groups of people - such as Jews - who did not eat unclean meats.

Only a few decades ago, some tribes in southern Africa began to eat what were called Green Monkeys who are natural carriers of the aids virus. Guess what, that's where the aids epidemic started, in southern Africa, and it has spread throughout much of the world since, killing many millions of people - including innocent children - in a slow, agonising death every year. Did you read that the eating of unclean meats also goes hand in hand with sexual immorality? The aids virus is mainly spread among people who live immoral lives, and many innocent children are born with that horrible disease as a consequence. What did God say? Don't eat unclean animals - and monkeys are included - and don't be sexually immoral. What do people say? We eat what we like to eat, and our immorality is nobody's business. And then they die from dreadful diseases.

We have all heard about - and some of us have suffered from - various strains of what is called Asian flu. Did you catch it on the news media? All those types of flu were traced to the pig farms in southern China, and so was the bird flu that had the medical authorities all over the world worried.

Much of what I am writing about does not often get a lot of publicity, but keep listening, and keep your eyes open, and you will pick up such examples from time to time.

I could have mentioned all of the above in the article I wrote, but I limited it to what God's Word, the Bible, has to say about it. Even that should have served as a fair warning.

A friend recently wrote to me: "I just read your comments on the Trinty on your blog site. But sorry to say you completly lost me on your conclusion. Cant you explane it in a more simple way?"

My reply is perhaps an good lead-in to this subject, as we have been working on this film for some time:

Great to hear from you and thanks for your comments.

We have a film transcript on the subject of the Trinity that we'll soon be filming -- and hopefully we'll be able to simplify the issues and propose a careful, Biblically-correct understanding on this subject.

Proponents of the Trinity doctrine admit that it is the most difficult doctrine to prove from the Bible alone, and yet it is usually stated as the primary doctrine in many Christian creeds and faith statements!

I think the safest path in this 1600 year old discussion is to lean heavily on what we do understand through the words of Jesus, and the understanding of the early Christian church as found in the writings of the apostles. John, for example in 1 John 1:3 summarises the oneness of our relationship with God: "that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ."

[To attempt to go beyond what is explicity stated in the scriptures is indeed a dangerous path, and we look forward to exploring this intriguing subject in a series of films the months ahead. I appreciate my friend writing and asking for answers].

I think we've entered an ongoing discussion and discovery that is fascinating as it is essential to Christianity.

A long time friend of mine recently noted that much of this material has been discussed and debated for some 2000 years, and that they had no desire to "enter the fray" - preferring to simply turn a blind eye to it all.

Yet, there are a few sources worth reading. Ronald Dart make several excellent points in his article discussing the characteristics of the Holy Spirit in both the Old and New Testaments, at http://www.borntowin.net/personals_show_panel_with_endnotes.aspx?id=52

Renowned atheist Richard Dawkins taunted orthodox Christianity when he referred to the Trinity, among other non-Biblical beliefs as, “recurrent flirtation with polytheism towards runaway inflation.” (The God Delusion, Richard Dawkins, 2006)

Some years ago we presented a MessageWeek film clip on the subject of the Trinity, and did so very carefully considering the theological shifts within some denominations. The above weblog simply asks those questions again, this time a little more directly. Perhaps it's time to present another short film on this pivotal subject.

There's quite a lot of reading available on the internet on the subject.

The reoccurring assertion in many of these articles is that the triune nature of God is not supported in scripture, but was added later, as formalised by Constantine.
