We were invited our family to an annual outreach event called The Road to Bethlehem. We were asked whether we would like to film the event with perhaps the idea of making a short documentary or film from the event. Consisting of 80 actors dressed in first century costumes, from shepherds, herald angels, Roman soldiers, nativity scene, wise men and the like, we were treated to seven short well-executed plays.

Our family travelled by bus to the Livingston Community Church in Canning Vale this week, where we met up with hundreds of people consisting mainly of young families.

The short plays were very well done. We filmed most of the event using two Canon EOS cameras, and the quality of the footage was reasonable, considering we didn’t know what was going to happen next. Surprises like herald angels suddenly appearing and singing, Roman soldiers bustling about, light-hearted as well as serious skits made it into an evening worth remembering.

We hope you enjoy this short film when it becomes available. Thanks to all the organisers, actors, car parking attendants, bus drivers and singers.
