Christian practice meets weekly for worship services; for some believers it is their best opportunity to benefit from spiritual instruction, fellowship and celebration. Thus for seven years, modelled on that pattern, we produced a short, weekly, good news message. We continue to produce short, regular film clips, with each topic revealing some aspect of God's word, grace and love. In time, we shortened our domain name from www.messageoftheweek.com.au to www.message7.org, and updated our registered name to MessageWeek Ministries. |
|
MessageWeek, like other Christian ministries, is a continuation of the work Jesus Christ began some 2000 years ago. Go and share the good news everywhere. Our goal is to touch the lives of millions of people in the Pacific/Asia/Australia region and beyond with the good news message using emerging multimedia technology. By recognising the increasing role media now plays in everyone's life [there's hardly a home in Australia without a well-used television set or now an internet connection], the web has introduced a cost effective method of content delivery and initial contact. |
|
MessageWeek developed from an era of profound theological change in the Worldwide Church of God beginning in 1995, and continued as a tentative initiative to contribute to the ongoing work of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ using emerging technologies. The partnership between MessageWeek and WCG has concluded amicably. MessageWeek is a non-denominational, not-for-profit ministry, with the film/media content based entirely on the life and teachings centering on Jesus Christ as found in the Bible. Our work is supported and affirmed by many Church of God communities. |

Jesus reiterated, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength". He also said, as recorded in Matthew 6: "Don't prioritise your needs of food, clothing and shelter. Instead, seek first God's Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these physical necessities will be provided for." The vision that has sustained MessageWeek over the years is a humble response to Jesus' call to discipleship. Jesus says, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." This is Jesus' personal work, His words, with His signature! We acknowledge the following scriptures: John 5:30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me. John 5:19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. John 3:27 John answered and said, "A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven." |

When we celebrate the reality of Jesus Christ in all our worship celebrations, when we take His words to heart, when we pray in His name, and are baptised in His name, when we celebrate the appointed times that centre on Jesus, then perhaps the only valid conclusion to make is that we're distinctly under the terms of the new covenant! |

Sponsorship and voluntary donations help offset general production expenses. By using available desktop technology, production costs are nominal. Many costs are covered by Classic IT Support [the technical arm of MessageWeek]; rent and utilities are covered by a generous partner, and we thank those who are moved to contribute financially. While we do not actively solicit contributions, we're appreciative of any help. |
|
An earlier contract with community TV allowed MessageWeek to be used at any time as filler programming. While many of our films have featured in their religious programming, MessageWeek has also aired during weekly time slots. We are beginning a production cycle that would allow the airing on paid TV time. |
|
Our film studio is located in the Avon Valley in Western Australia. The media streaming server for www.message7.org is located in Northam and www.messageweek.com is located in Perth, WA. Our filming, however, takes us on location to a variety of venues. |

Our beliefs are expressed throughout the variety of Christian films we produce, and are based entirely on the Holy Bible, sharpened and mentored by the scholarship and theology as expressed by the Churches of God. Themes like "The Hope of the Resurrection" have featured numerous times over the past decade, and carefully articulate the Biblical position on these fascinating subjects. |

God did three things following His work of creation: on the seventh day He (1) rested from His work, (2) blessed the seventh day and (3) made it holy. The rest, blessing and holiness still exists today - it has never been revoked. Jesus explained why God did this: "The sabbath was made for man." This gift wasn't just for the Hebrews, but for all mankind. The cycle of the week is important, as it serves as a marker of time that is interspersed with rest. For more information, see our film "Genesis Heritage". |
|
We currently produce a new film each month. For many years we used to produce a new film every week, but now require additional time to research, write, and produce broadcast quality content. We host a direct link to a daily audio broadcaston the Born to Win website. |

Your prayers are perhaps the most important part of this outreach ministry. Please pray specifically that that the good news message can continue to give sight to the blind, hope to the hopeless, and encouragement to the discouraged and marginalised - that someone, somewhere in this world, is strengthened and encouraged in their faith in God. Pray for the script-writers and presenters. Jesus told his followers that "the harvest is plenteous but the labourers are few." He encouraged them to pray that the Lord send labourers into the harvest. If you would like to partner with us, or help with camera or audio work, script writing, DV editing, financially or otherwise, or would like to feature in an upcoming interview, for example, we would love to hear from you. |
